After a highly animated and productive meeting on Wednesday 17th Feb a new draft version 2 of the planning / discussion document for the Revival of the Rochdale Beer Festival has been produced. A coy of the document is available by emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

As before, nothing in the document is cast in stone or sacred!

There will be an opportunity to discuss the document at the next meeting on the 3rd March 2010 at the Baum, however, it would be great to have volunteers by then for many of the key roles / streams to enable us to move this forward quickly.

The Firestation unfortunatley is not available as a venue.  This leaves us with the Town Hall as our key option at present.  Please let us know if you come up with other viable options (having checked them out first for feasibility if possible).

17th February 2010

Rochdale Round Table held there first meeting at the Baum in Rochdale to discuss the possibility of holding a beer festival in Rochdale
later on in the year. The event would be used to raise money for local causes and would bring the communities, businesses and shops together within the town. The event is to replace the abseil which took place down the Town Hall clock which raised in excess of £18000.

Simon manager of the Baum and members from Camra attended the meeting and gave their ideas of how the event could be run and any issues that we could encounter. The event would be looking for sponsors and it was hoped that local companies and brewers would assist in making this a success.

It was proposed that a meeting be held later on in the month and to get local businesses involved. We are looking for volunteers and your ideas.

If you wish to assist in this event, sponsor or give your ideas.
